CAKE CUTTING SELECTIONS The Cake Cutting tradition is where the bride and groom cut the wedding cake together, and feed each other a small piece.  Sometimes in fun, the couple will smash the cake into each others faces. Many couples keep the top layer of their wedding cake and save it for their first year anniversary by freezing it.  Many couples have complained that the cake is stale after a year in the freezer, so they will have the top layer of their cake recreated by their baker for their anniversary instead.
